DUBAIDubai Police have impounded a car for 60 days and issued heavy penalties after a motorist was caught driving recklessly.

The incident involved dangerous overtaking on a two-way road, where the driver used the wrong lane to pass several vehicles, creating a serious hazard for other road users.

Multiple fines

The driver was fined Dh600 and received six black points for improper overtaking. An additional Dh2,000 fine and 23 black points were imposed for driving in a manner that endangered lives and compromised road safety.

Road risks

Police released a video showing the car speeding into the wrong lane to overtake without leaving enough space. Such manoeuvres increase the risk of head-on collisions and put other motorists in immediate danger.

Authorities urged drivers to stay alert, avoid distractions, and always use mirrors and signals before changing lanes to prevent accidents.
